I met a new little family the other day with a brand new baby girl!
As soon as we started the shoot I knew she would be the sweetest little baby and very easy to photograph. In her first few pictures she started smiling!!! This was one of the very first ones...
This little baby wrap is mine that I bring to my shoots...they always look so sweet all wrapped up. These were my favorites of her all wrap all snug...
She opened her eyes for just a few minutes for a few pictures,
but she was mostly very sleepy, she never even cried, not once!
Another smile captured for my camera...
Little hands are always my favorite of all, after all they are only this tiny for a very short while...
I LOVE this angle on these couple of pictures...
In every newborn shoot I like to use something to establish their size...
so that as future shoots it can be used to show how much the baby has grown.
This picture is just precious!
I love this picture with mom and dad...so special...
Here is one with mom...
Another little family picture...
Here is dad...
Her Grandma, aunt and two cousins were there for the shoot too...(one did NOT want to be in pictures, she was being shy, but we caught her in a few family pictures.)
I love these with Grandma...
Now for the most special pictures of the day. What happened next at the shoot was something very special and that reminded me how awesome and meaningful to others my job is sometimes.
When I
first walked in their home I noticed a picture of an older man. The way it was centered in the room my assumption was he was no longer
with us.
As the shoot was coming to a close the new father asked me if
there was a way we could photograph the baby with the picture, he told
me it was his father. I said yes of course but just let me think for a
minute of how I would like to do it to make it special (rather then just
quickly putting the baby next to the picture). I then turned to the
grandmother and asked her if this was her husband . She answered yes so I asked her if she would hold the picture and then her son
could hold the baby towards the picture.
In my mind I still
wasn't sure if this was artistically pleasing to me...as I started to
arrange them this was the first picture I took...I noticed immediately that this was a VERY special moment.
. I knew it really didn't matter if
the masses would love this picture. This family seemed to need this
moment for them. It was beautiful. Every moment I capture is
special...as we never know what tomorrow will hold...but today, it was
special in that very moment.
